Postpartum depression is a serious mood disorder that can happen after you have a baby. It brings extreme sadness, low energy, and heavy worry. It is more severe than the normal "baby blues" and does not go away on its own. You can get help from your doctor, counseling, or support groups.

If you have thoughts of hurting yourself or your baby, get help right away by calling or texting 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or call 911
